Celebrity Watch!

Look how gorgeous she looks with her extensions! We transformed her short fine hair into long loose curls. She looks so stunning and the hair looked so natural. I have had the wonderful fortune of working with celebrities but most will not let me post their photos on my wall so I am very thankful that my beautiful and sweet client Natalia was so generous. The following photos show first the "before" shot and then the "after" shots (including an article about how glamorous she is in the news!

Length for Naturally-Thick (but short) Hair

Most clients that come to my salon have thin hair, but plenty of clients actually have thick gorgeous hair that simply will not grow.   It is so important for these clients to have their extensions custom-made because simply buying a cheap standard pack of hair extensions off the internet will make their hair look like a "mullet" (for lack of a better word!).   It seems counter-intuitive, but the thicker the client's natural hair, the thicker the extensions need to be so that the layers fall seamlessly and so that there is no separation between the natural hair and the longer extensions hair.

What I do for these clients is carefully measure their head and the length of each layer so that the extensions can be custom-fitted to fall exactly where they need to in order to make the extensions look like it is their natural hair, just more of it!

I chose this photo to illustrate my point. My client/model Mei has beautiful thick hair.  When hair is this short and cut into a bob, it is easiest to create a natural look using wavy extensions because the waves hide the short layer. But straight extensions can work too, so long as they are layered properly.

Better than WEAVES

I have many African-American clients who have used weaves for many years and tell me about the terrible effects of years of having their hair pulled out by this technique. Most of these clients tell me that they never considered clip-ons in the past because they feared they would be bulky, fall out and not match their texture. Yet those that "convert" to clip-ons never go back to the sewn in method after discovering that the clip-on technique is not damaging, looks completely natural, stays in for as long as you desire and is so much less costly because it does not require touch-ups. PRESS! Hair Extensions NYC in the news!

Today's Black Woman magazine featured an article about my hair extensions line, and printed a before and after shot of my client and model Natalie wearing a kinky curly dark brown jeri-curl set of extensions. They looked so natural on her. Her own hair is relaxed straight but we curled the top of her hair using a tiny barrel curling iron, and the curly hair extensions "hid" the remainder of her straight hair. Gorgeous!

Fashion Manuscript featured an article about me and my hair extensions line using before and after photos of my client/model Shira. I love the tagline: "Lengths of Possibility" because there are so many possibilities with these extensions! 

Still shot from FOX NEWS 23 featuring my Hair Extensions NYC line! Yes they tried the clip-on extensions on a MAN! But how funny that the clips stayed even though he had a crew cut...lol!!!

Oh my goodness! So I was thrilled when the EDITOR of Modern Salon (a well-known magazine in the beauty industry) asked me to make a set of hair extensions to use on her cover model. I custom-sewed a gorgeous platinum/golden blonde set. But when the issue came out I noticed that the stylist had massacred the hair! Yikes it is teased and cropped and wow did they do a number on it! But I'm still glad that they were able to use them and they wrote a lovely article about my work. I just wonder whether anyone was able to wear them ever again given that they were cut in such a bizarre way!

Wedding bells!

I have many bridal clients and I love being a part of each client's most special day! My line of hair extensions is the best kept secret amongst brides throughout new York City! This is the hottest bridal beauty item today. With my line of removeable extensions I can transform a client's short to medium fine hair into long free-flowing locks or a fabulous up-do. Miss Pre-Teen America Winner!

I am so honored to have been a part of

my beautiful client Shereen's beauty pageant success! She looks so gorgeous with her hair extensions. I loved working with her and she was so incredibly sweet and I am so proud of her! Congratulations! Since the pageant Shereen has come back in for a new set with highlights now that she has highlights in her hair. The bottom photo shows the newer set with the subtle chestnut highlights.  Clients can actually dye the extensions because they are human hair, but some clients choose to just get a new set and save the original set in case they go back to their natural shade. Either color, Shereen looks stunning!

This is the "before" shot, Shereen had soft beautiful hair and I am so glad she decided to do clip-ins instead of a weave which would have been so damaging. She looks so pretty even with the short hair but with the extensions (see below) she looks so glamorous! Yay! My beautiful Miss Pre-Teen America Winner!  xoxo!  Jessica :)
